We are excited to announce that WigOut, our signature “FUN”draiser will be held Saturday, April 15th, 8 pm to midnight in the gallery at 623 N. Chaparral St.  Proceeds from WigOut support K Space Contemporary’s art education programs.  This year, we are celebrating the freedom, inspiration and edge of street art, fashion and music with WigOut - Street Style Edition!

The graffiti movement began in the late 70’s and evolved into a major art movement that spawned internationally famous artists like Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, and later, Banksy, OBEY and KAWS. These artists created works that now sell for millions, and their work has influenced leagues of upcoming artists, as well as fashion, music, and culture.  WigOut attendees are invited to dress in costume and/or wear wigs or artful accessories related to the theme.

WigOut – Street Style Edition will be off the hook!  Leave your tag on the graffiti wall, dance to music by Ed Ocañas of Retro 104.1, and jump into the photo booth. This exciting event includes fabulous food, drinks and a Silent Auction featuring art by popular artists, wonderful vacation get-a-ways, and fantastic merchandise. Our artist-designed Swag Bags will be filled with prizes from local retailers.

Proceeds from WigOut support K Space Contemporary’s Art Education and Outreach Programs, including our Summer Mural Arts Program for teens which creates amazing public murals, Art Lab for Teens, and our Outreach Program which takes enriching creative experiences to K-12 schools, senior centers and non-profit organizations. This fundraiser raises matching grant funds, pays our Education Coordinator and Instructors, and helps purchase art supplies for these programs.
