"The Seasons of the Sparkling City"

Painted by the 2022 Summer Mural Arts Program

This summer, K Space Mural Arts Campers ages 13-17 created a public mural utilizing bright, bold colors on the side of Made in Corpus Christi / Milestone’s building facing the LabCorp parking lot. The mural is titled “Seasons of the Sparkling City” and represents animals, flowers, and cultural symbols relating to our beautiful city. Campers participated in painting and installing this large mural over a 6-week period.

The Mural Arts Program was taught by artists Mayra Zamora, and Monica Marie Garcia, assisted by Youth Apprentices Faith Casas, Heaven Garrison and Elena Perez. 55 youth participated in painting the mural. This is the 23rd mural created by K Space Contemporary over the years.

While searching for mural locations, Made in Corpus Christi owner, Nikki Riojas, generously offered the wall on the side of their building. K Space felt that this was a perfect opportunity to expand our mural footprint into the developing area of the Uptown Corridors and to assist with beautifying the area. The mural is bright and easy to see when traveling north on South Staples street and makes for the perfect photo opportunity on the weekends. The Summer Mural Arts Program was made possible this year by the generous funding from the Frazier Family Foundation, Bruce and Belinda Edwards of Axis Tattoo, HEB, AEP Texas, Milestones, Made in Corpus Christi, and numerous WigOut! donors.
