Dia de los Muertos Collection

October 3rd - November 14th

Our Día de los Muertos Art Collection began in 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. That year, with grant funding available but no in-person festival to host, we chose to invest in the heart of the celebration itself—art. Instead of spending funds on stages, rental equipment, and bands, we commissioned five original pieces that embodied the color, spirit, and cultural significance of Día de los Muertos.

Since that first year, the collection has continued to grow, with at least one new commission added annually. Each work reflects the creativity and vision of the artists who have contributed to the project: Samantha Casanova, Mabel Garza, Marnie Long, Malachy McKinney, Mayra Zamora, Lars Roeder, Tony Armadillo, Amorette Garza, Liz Lucido, and Matthew Rosas, with some designs painted by Monica M. Garcia and Emily Quintanilla

The only exception to our “one-a-year” tradition came in 2024 when we added three vibrant papier-mâché alebrijes by Liz Lucido bringing new energy, texture, and imagination to the collection.

Today, this ongoing collection stands as a testament to resilience, creativity, and cultural pride—honoring both those we have lost and the enduring art that keeps their memory alive.
