Celebrating Questionable Creative Ideas that Actually Work!

Ever make a piece that shouldn’t work—wrong materials, bad logic, awkward form—but somehow does? Maybe you don’t even fully know why it works. That’s what we’re looking for.

Crackpot Logic is a juried exhibition about work that succeeds because it breaks rules—of taste, technique, composition, material, logic or usefulness. We’re interested in artists who trust instinct over correctness and follow ideas that probably raised a few eyebrows (including their own).

This show highlights personal systems, unconventional reasoning, and experimental processes. Misuse, failure, and questionable decisions are not side effects—they’re the method. Across all media, Crackpot Logic celebrates risk, persistence, and creative leaps that operate on their own strange internal logic.

FRAMING, SHIPPING AND DELIVERY:

Framing Requirements: 2-D works must be properly prepared for exhibition with wire securely attached. Shipped works requiring glazing must use Plexi-glass or equivalent. We prefer that drawings and prints be framed for protection; however, we will exhibit works on paper using magnets or clips. The following are not accepted: wet paint, clamp/clip frames, fragile frames, and glass. Thick, bulky, colored, decorative frames must be represented in the juried image as part of the work of art.

Label: Each accepted work must arrive with proper labeling (name, email address and phone number, title, media, date, retail price) securely attached to the work of art (back of frame or bottom of sculpture).

Shipping:

All shipping costs and liability for damage are the responsibility of the artist. Shipped works must arrive at KSC NO EARLIER THAN FEB. 18 AND NO LATER THAN FEB. 27. Accepted works must be shipped via UPS or FedEx in reusable containers. Make sure your name is on your crate on the outside. Do NOT use packing peanuts. Note: Pack your work well with at least 3 layers of bubble wrap or surrounded by styrofoam in a sturdy box. Works that arrive in broken or damaged crates will be returned immediately.

Ship Accepted Works to: K Space Contemporary, 623 N. Chaparral Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401

Return Shipping: Email a pre-paid shipping label for return shipment to info@kspacecontemporary.org by April 10th with SHIPPING LABEL in the subject line. Another option is to include a printed return label with your work. If your work is 2D, attached the return shipping label to the back. If your work is 3D, include an envelope with the return shipping label inside your crate where it can be easily identified. If there are special instructions for return shipping, such as FREIGHT CARRIER, make a note of it and staple to the return label. K Space will begin returning shipped works April 16 - 17. If you are arranging a pickup, please set it for April 17th.

Hand Delivery: Artists may deliver accepted works of art to K Space Feb. 18 – Feb. 27 during regular gallery hours. Hours: Wed – Sat, 11am to 5 pm, Sun 12 – 4 pm. K Space is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Pick Up Dates are April 11, 11am to 5 pm and April 12, 12 to 4 pm.
