OUR MISSION
From Director, Michelle Smythe and the Board of Directors

K Space Contemporary is an artist operated, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to presenting and promoting contemporary art to South Texas. Acting as a forum for creative exchange and experimentation, K Space Contemporary aspires to educate, build and nurture an audience for innovative art in the Coastal Bend. Our goal is to become a popular and prestigious cultural destination for the city of Corpus Christi which draws tourists and locals, alike, to the downtown area and in turn, contributes to downtown revitalization.

Linda Lewis (solo exhibition)
K Space Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of works of art by Linda Lewis. This exhibition includes fiber-art and mixed media sculpture that incorporate found objects such as typewriters, vacuum cleaners, desks, faucets, hair, plastic babies, to name a few.
Linda Lewis received an MFA in 1997 from Arizona State University. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and a Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellowship.

The Good, The Bad and The Altered (group exhibition)
K Space invited many of the region's finest artists to work their creative magic on a manufactured object or commercial design. The artists have added their own spin to mass-produced posters, paint-by-numbers kits, souvenir trinkets and other items such as bathroom fixtures.

OUT OF OUR HANDS: Melissa Marks Garner & Norberto Gomez, Jr.
The exhibition features mixed media work by Corpus Christi artist, Melissa Marks Garner and University of Houston, MFA candidate, Norberto Gomez, Jr. The show will be in the "Hot Spot" - the 3rd floor gallery located within K Space Art Studios.
