About the event
LINOCUT PAPALOTE WORKSHOP WITH EMILIO CEJA CASTILLO AND RACHEL MITCHELL
Learn how to construct your own custom block-printed papalote- or kite- inspired by the Día de
los Muertos tradition of kite-flying in Oaxaca and the legacy of Francisco Toledo’s use of paplotes in his fine art practice and activist work.
Workshop participants will carve and print linoleum blocks onto their own handmade paplotes
before taking advantage of Corpus Christi’s ideal flying environment in a kite race.
Drop off between 10:30 am and 11 am at the side door at 415d Starr St.
