K Space Contemporary is pleased to present Summer Selections: Works by TAMUCC Advanced Art Students. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, June 3 from 5:30 to 9 pm in conjunction with ArtWalk and the Corpus Christi Mural Festival. The exhibition will continue through July 8th.

As the spring semester was drawing to a close, TAMUCC Painting and Drawing professor Joe Peña invited K Space Contemporary’s director Michelle Smythe to critique his students’ work. Impressed by the work, Smythe selected several pieces to display this summer in K Space Contemporary’s Project Space.

Smythe commented, “It is always exciting and refreshing to see new artwork coming out of our local colleges. These young artists are full of talent and promise, and Joe has a way of drawing out the best in his students. I felt they deserved an opportunity for their work to be seen and admired. I think the public will be impressed, as well.”

Students selected for the exhibition include: Franceska Alvarado, Stormie Drillen, Melissa Garcia, Chloe Green, Bailee Hazelwood, Olivia Hinkle, Marina Langford, Teresa Priour, Jenni Rodriguez, Joe Skinner, Alyssa Valdez, and Sean Youngs.

The exhibition runs from June 3 through July 8th, 2022. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Saturday 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday 12 to 4 pm. K Space Contemporary is located at 623 N. Chaparral Street in downtown Corpus  Christi, Texas. To learn more, visit www.kspacecontemporary.org.
